Super Short Game Report #3

  • Just two players. That’s OK. The wizard is recovering.
  • Stilgar the Chaos monk and Rexor the Demon Bug Man fly on their remaining trained roc accompanied by 100 of their cavalryman to take possession of the fort of the Porters of Gideon.
  • Tarix has beaten them there. The Bud Knight and an invisible stalker have cleaned out the low level mooks left behind to guard the temple. Tarix smiles his smug smile and invites the boys in for tea and biscuits.
  • Rexor is grumpy about how they did all the heavy lifting and Tarix has reaped the reward but they decide they might need Tarix if they fight Zoran the Vivimancer.
  • Tarix offers the Kompanions of Kalador free entry into the Hall of Infinite Doors. This was what Laski has been sitting on all this time. There is a door in the study which leads into the Hall. The Hall of Infinite Doors (not really infinite but sounds cooler that way) is a maze of doors to various planes and planets in the prime material plane. One merely passes through the door into the hall and onto the door they seek.
  • Tarix provides them with a map to a door to a city in the plane of Limbo called Nightside. He tells them it is sort of a hub of trade in magic and information worth checking out. They decide to go.
  • Rexor and Stilgar through into a dank ally and find their way to a main thoroughfare. They try to communicate with the locals but aren’t having much luck until they meet a member of the Guild of Wayfinders, Guides and Interpreters.
  • Of course, as PC’s loaded with coin are want to do, they went shopping. After selling a magic item that was giving them trouble (a Law aligned intelligent sword) they bought a fancy magic crossbow and a roc egg.
  • Tarix had told them about the Undercity and it was rumored to have a vast treasure at it’s center. The party found out about an entrance in a heavily guarded bank.
  • They paid the fee and were guided through several heavy doors to another heavy door protected by three plate mail armored guards with pikes and heavy crossbows. They let the party through and locked the door behind them with knowledge of the secret knock to let them out when they were done.
  • Before them was a stair going down into the dark. The went down it. They reached a platform with a single path off it leading to a corridor leading to a dimly lit room and a sound of growling and scraping claws on stone. They continued down the stair.
  • A monsterous bat came from out of the dark and they easily dispatched it and going down the stair. They eventually came to the bottom of the stair and found a temple full of bones, broken and rusted weapons and armor, pieces of furniture and the like. The fragments formed into a massive bone/metal/junk construct which the party fought. The monk used the True Sight power from the Hand and learned that the construct was animated by an “entity” of pure hatred that had become trapped in the temple.
  • Rexor and Stilgar bashed the thing to pieces and dug through the detritus. They found fortune in jewelry and headed back the surface.
  • They sold their loot, returned back through hall and headed back to Vanessa’s Lament to check on their insane vizier, Akbar.
