This is Mine: Game Report #13

On April 21, 2020 By Travis MillerIn game report, my campaign1 Comment

Pompous Maximus and Akbar rejoined Rexor and Stilgar outside of the forgotten adamantine mine. The party determined that the magic inscription on the exterior of the mine was recent and written in the language of the Githzerai. It indicated that there was some sort of undead and a powerful golem within the depths of the …

The Kompanions returned back to the prime material world from the strange city of Nightside in the plane of Limbo. Pompous and Akbar returned to Vanessa's Lament to recover from their adventures in the undercity of Nightside. Stilgar and Rexor checked in with their men guarding the keep housing the Hall of Infinite doors. Just …

More Dungeon Crawling: Game Report #11

On March 30, 2020 By Travis MillerIn game report

I ran my Swords and Wizardry game yesterday via Skype. I've been distracted this past week with both good things and bad things. My 16th wedding anniversary, Virtual Gary Con and then there's that other thing going on. I was not well prepared for the game this week. I found it difficult to focus when I …

A Little Dungeon Crawling: Game Report #10

On March 23, 2020May 26, 2022 By Travis MillerIn game report

The Kompanions arrived in Nightside and found a wizard who works with gems and magical jewelry. The gentleman was quite impressed to see the collection of gems dug from the giant coprolite on their way to Nightside. A deal was struck where the jeweler got half the stones in exchange for polishing and finishing the …

Reign of Blood: Game Report #9

On March 14, 2020May 26, 2022 By Travis MillerIn game report2 Comments

The Kompanions swept up the remnants of Willems army they could manage. Kalador and the Kavalry returned to Vanessa's Lament as the army prepared to move on a defenseless Silverside. Taking advantage of the chaos of the defeated forces of Willem and the aristocratic houses of Silverside, they moved quickly to secure the city and …

Beseiged!: Game Report #8

On March 6, 2020May 26, 2022 By Travis MillerIn game report

The Kompanions  secured the captive Lord Willem and began looting the corpses of his fallen men. Stilgar, the Chaos Monk, picked up Willem's sword which proved to be a bad idea. A weapon forged by the powers of Law, it took umbrage to the unclean touch of the monk and sent a gout of blue …

The Battle of Woodhurst: Game Report #7

On February 25, 2020May 26, 2022 By Travis MillerIn game report, my campaign1 Comment

The Kompanions scheduled a meeting, a parley if you will with Lord Willem, de facto king of all the lands east of the Silver river. It was decided that they would talk, maybe, but they would mostly prepare to ambush and murder him. The Kompanions flew on their roc to the Fortress of the Hall …

I write about tabletop role-playing games, sword-and-sorcery fiction, storytelling, and heavy metal.

The friendships I’ve forged while playing adventure games, listening to heavy music, and sharing stories saved my life and made it worth living.

I live in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. America’s most underrated city.

If you aren't logged into DTRPG or have your account settings to see adult content, Hogwater won't show up for you when you click on the link. The "adult" content is limited to the cover and bit of suggestive text in one encounter.

Hogwater: Village of Secrets is a starting location for a sandbox campaign. It includes everything you need to begin a campaign while still having the space to add your favorite old school modules or build your own. There are factions, non-player characters, unique monsters, locations, and a series of pre-written hooks for you to introduce players to the village of Hogwater and its troubles.

Immortals Inc, one of Cleveland's best Friendly Local Game Stores, keeps signed copies of Hogwater in stock. They ship to locations inside of the United States or you can pick it up yourself if you happen to be in the area. Great shop and great people. I also run special events and appear on their YouTube channel from time to time.

Buy Hogwater on Lulu in Print. Send me the receipt and I'll send you a PDF for free.
