Sean McCoy shared a project he is doing for 2023 and it's got some attention. I think it's good idea and I'm going to participate.

New Blog in The Blog Roll

I became aware of Bearded Devil a few days ago. Somehow, I missed it's existence. I came across it because of this post about his city crawl campaign. I agree with many of his ideas about what he calls "baroque DM'ing" and the limitations of procedural generation methods.  The setting and characters are delightfully bizarre. …

A cool thing that I've recently became aware of is a proliferation of old school D&D podcasts being produced via the Anchor App. Anchor is an all in one free podcasting app. I have no idea how it works or what their business model is. Several old school D&D enthusiasts have started to use it …

My Gygax Moment

I remember very clearly, around the age of 13, having the thought, "Who is this Gary Gygax guy and how the hell did he get the job of writing these books?" Turns out, he invented the job of being an RPG designer. I never met Gary but I've gamed with some of his friends and …

One of the players in my Swords and Wizardry game is the lovely human and skilled sculptor Jason Hite. He makes and sells these bad ass dice towers on his website. I've been fortunate to see some of his sculptures in person and they are amazing in their detail and precision. He brought this tower for …

Working on a thumbnail for a YouTube video Coco insists that whatever it is I am doing is far less important than petting her. @immortals_inc had a #TTRPG swap meet yesterday at the shop. I picked up a few things. Filled a few gaps in the AD&D collection. Changed up the work space today. Are you sure you want to do that? The box of DOOM. I was a guest in the swanky Immortals Inc. recording studio this afternoon. My wife's orchids are starting to bloom. She gave me one to brighten up the Grumperie. Saw a @kingbuffaloband show last night. The two openers were fantastic as well.
